Do you have knowledge of the Dutch market and experience with export promotion and counseling, preferably within the health sector? Are you interested in working in a fast-paced international environment? Then you might be our new colleague in the Trade Department of the Embassy of Denmark in The Hague.

About the job

As Trade Advisor you will assist Danish companies accessing the Dutch market and boost Danish exports to the Netherlands, primarily within the health sector but also to some small extent in other sectors. You will work strategically with market analysis and contribute to large cross-regional and cross-organizational projects, with colleagues in the Benelux region. At the same time, you will solve a wide range of diverse tasks for Danish companies and stakeholders.

You are as comfortable networking with government officials and CEOs as you are working with SMEs on building market access and establishing partnerships. You can identify and present new market opportunities, you thrive on finding creative solutions and you take pride in delivering high-quality products to the customer, regardless of the task.

To ensure an optimal handling of the portfolio of the embassy, you are expected to be flexible and to contribute to solving tasks also outside your main areas of responsibilities.

There is an income-generating requirement attached to the position, and you will contribute to the overall income target of the Benelux region.

Required Qualifications

  • A relevant academic education, e.g. in business, economics or social sciences.
  • Ability to think long-term and strategically with export promotion in mind.
  • Ability to create close relationships with companies and authorities, and actively use your network.
  • You work efficiently on your own, but are also a team player, who can work interdisciplinary across ministries and stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle many relationships and projects at the same time.
  • Great eye for opportunities and contexts as well as an ability to work result oriented.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and preferably in Danish.

    Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Danish strongholds and experience with public-private partnerships.
  • Experience with export promotion and sales of counselling services is a plus.
  • Experience working in an international environment and preferably within the Dutch or Danish Market.

Terms of employment

The employment is initially for one year with the possibility of extension. All employment with the Danish Foreign Service requires security clearance by the Danish Security and Intelligence Service.

You will be employed full time as a local employee at the Danish Embassy in The Hague. Salary according to qualifications within a public organization. 5 weeks of paid annual leave and a flexible Danish working scheme.

Place of work & Expected start date

You will be hired at the Embassy of Denmark, where you will be part of the Trade Team and report directly to the Head of Trade in The Hague.

The expected start date is 1 November 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
